Antalya Free Zone, one of the most important centers in yacht building, lets 442 luxury yachts launched which worth 1 billion 277 million dollars, in 20 years.
Antalya Free Zone hosts 83 companies, 31 foreign investment origin, operating in yacht, electric-electronics, medical, machinery, construction, textiles, chemistry and mining not only from Turkey but also The Netherlands, Germany, USA, Italy and UK.
The zone realizes yacht building since 2000 and 45 domestic and international companies get orders from Italy to UK, USA to Russia and UAE.
World famous sportspeople, business people, Royal Dynasties from Middle East prefers Antalya to purchase their ultraluxe yachts. The zone also takes active role in providing domestic production for saviors of the blue motherland. The capacity of the yachts reached up to 70 meters.
TRADE VOLUME INCREASED DESPITE PANDEMIC
General Manager of ASBAŞ, Antalya Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc, Zeki Gürses declared that Antalya Free Zone realized 8 % increase in trade volume in 2020.
"The Trade volume was 777 million dollars in 2019 and reached up to 840 million dollars in 2020 and reflected in the employment numbers reaching up to 5300 from 5000s. New investments lead to a serious expectation of increase in both trade volume and employment for the next year and we aim to provide added value by attracting more foreign investment to the zone."
37 LUXURY YACHTS WERE LAUNCHED DURING PANDEMIC
Especially yacht industry is not affected as the other industries during Covid 19 Pandemic, the companies keep production due to their previous connections and made more connections for new projects.
In 2020, 37 yachts were completed and delivered to their owners said Gürses and added "Since 2000, we have reached up to 442 yachts and the total sales for these yachts are 1 billion 277 million dollars. Every single year the length of the yachts are increasing which adds up more value, more employment and the development of supporting industries.”
NEW INVESTMENTS ARE ON THE FOCUS OF INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES
Zeki Gürses stated that they have not given a break to investments, taken necessary steps and precautions in order to increase the capacity of the free zone and keep working on the investments. He also added a quay construction is commenced for setting higher standards for yacht industry.
The new quay will be serving for bigger yachts and many luxury yachts will prefer Antalya for maintenance. “Once the new quay is completed, we will be able to produce yachts up to 2000 tons and provide maintenance services in Antalya Free Zone.”
Gürses also stated that the borders of the zone enlarged by 120 thousand sqm which provides a very prominent advantage on logistics. He says that they plan to complete the new quay this June and added;
“Thanks to our quay harboring area of approximately 300 meters, travel lift of 560 tons and ship lift of 2000 tons, we have attracted the attention from Far East, Africa and Middle East investors. We have reached to the last step of quay investments which leaded us to a visible increase in demand.”
